Tengah is an island being closest to Mersing town in the mainland Malaysia. The island is beautiful and has good beaches, but still rather mediocre if compared with some other islands of the east coast. The best is to stay in the island resort. While day trip from Mersing is not so useful, since you won't get too much. In this case, you'd better get by ferry to Tioman island. Shore and seabed: sand, rocks.

Hotels [edit]
Batu Batu Tengah is a four-star hotel with rooms' rates starting from US$100 per night. The hotel is good enough, but not that upscale. In fact, it is more like an eco-resort or boutique hotel. However, value for money is Ok. And anyway, this is the only hotel on the island.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Kuala Lumpur international airport (KUL). Then get by taxi to the pier of
Mersing town, and get by speedboat to Tengah island.
Attention! You should always ask your hotel about transfer options, as well as to book boat in advance for exact time and exact pier.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a holiday in Tengah island is a dry season from April to July.
