Most hotels are located in the tourist areas in the northern and western coasts. There is a large selection of both cheap guesthouses, as well as luxury beach resorts.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Montego Bay International Airport (MBJ). Next take a taxi.

Sometimes it may be cheaper to fly to the capital Kingston Airport (KIN). But keep in mind that it is relatively remote from the popular beaches of Jamaica.

When to go [edit]

Any time of year. The strongest rains are in October. Also sea water is slightly warmer in summer half of the year. Most crowds of tourists are in the winter half of the year.

Jamaica has a reputation as an unsafe country. This is only partially true. Of course, country has problems with crime. But it's safe in the tourist areas. Also it's quite possible to travel across the country, if you don't forget basic rules of personal safety.
