Tikehau Atoll

Tikehau is an atoll in French Polynesia. It is located immediately to the west of famous Rangiroa Atoll. Strange, but the best beaches are located on the main island of the atoll, - that one with the airport. As for the small islands (motu), these are rather mediocre, - so no good beaches, nor snorkeling. Inner lagoon of the atoll is also not very interesting, since this is just a sea without notable sandbanks. It makes sense to visit this place only in case of good offers on the hotels. In the hotels of Tikehau atoll, rooms' fares start from US$400 per night. The service is not that upscale, while the views are not as beautiful as in Bora Bora. So this place is definitely overrated. Local business just use the popularity of this destination - without good investments to improve the service.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Tahiti international airport (PPT), next fly to Tikehau airport (TIH). There are also direct flights from atoll Rangiroa, as well as from some other islands.
