Canouan island

Canouan is a relatively big island in the chain of Grenadines. The key feature of this place is that, there are good beaches both on the Caribbean side, as well as on the Atlantic coast. So you can always choose stretch of coast with good swimming conditions at the current time, - nor matter what is the season or wind direction. As for the rest, this is quite unremarkable place with best beaches being located mainly near expensive resorts. However, anyone can swim near the water's edge. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. Hotels [edit]

Canouan Island has only a few hotels. Rooms' rates start from about US$300 per night. And probably value for money is not so good almost everywhere.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Saint Vincent international airport (SVD) or fly to Barbados international airport (BGI). Next fly to Canouan island airport (CIW).

There is also mail ship hopping between the islands of Bequia, Canouan, Mayreau and Union Island (from north to south and back). It runs not very often, and it's very uncomfortable aboard. But on the other side, this is the cheapest way to get from one Grenadines island to another.

The best time for a beach holiday in Canouan Island is a dry season from December to May.
