Andros island
Ultimate guide (May 2025)
Andros is a large island being the closest one to the west of Nassau, Bahamas. In fact, it is a group of islands and islets. But still it is considered to be one island. Its
beaches are bad. Since most of Andros' beaches are faced to the east, thus suffering from algae - especially in summer. So most of tourists visit it for ocean fishing. Since there are many sandy shallows, Andros is also the most interesting spot in Bahamas for an island hopping. Anyway, this is a great relaxed island, but almost without good beach holiday. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
